Unless you have to stay confined to the grounds of a specific event, like a party or convention, it might be a good idea to look around for a good natural spot. And nothing looks more natural than nature itself.
Forests, for instance, are really good places to capture organic shots. Whether you’ll be using models or not, these wooded areas are a real treasure to the photographic eye. There are many different things you can try, so take a look at our photo shooting tips.
Brooks and Streams
Amateur photographers should definitely try their hand at this. Floating colored items or models wearing vivid colors will result in really impressive images. In areas with shallow and slow moving waters, you could try shooting autumn leaves or flower petals. Flowing water allows for very creative shots, specially if you’re lucky enough to find a luxuriant mossy bankside.
Wildlife
Shooting wildlife can be very rewarding. It’s a difficult task, though, because the subject won’t always stay still, waiting for you to shoot it. Shooting a moving subject can be very trying (and tiring), but the effort usually pays. Beginners could start by shooting birds. These animals are often beautifully colored, and most of them are accustomed to the presence of humans, so there’s a good chance they won’t turn tail and fly as soon as they see a person coming.
Changing Seasons
The very same area can look extremely different, at different times of the year. Try returning to the locations you already visited, in each of the four seasons, and you will be fascinated with the results.
Safety First
When shooting at remote locales, you should take a few precautions to ensure your own safety. You should always tell two or more people where you’re going, and never go alone. Good photos really are a unique treasure, but risking your life for them is not a very bright idea.
